What You Need to Record?
Before you can record shows, there are a couple of requirements:
1. DIRECTV Stream Box
To record programming, you’ll need the DIRECTV Stream device and the remote which include an Osprey box. The mobile app does not come with the element that would allow for recording options.
2. Unlimited DVR Add-On
Recording is only possible if subscribed to an advanced base package called ‘DIRECTV Stream’ and pays a monthly fee for the ‘Unlimited DVR’ feature. This makes it possible to store an unlimited number of recordings.
Guideline for recording a show or program

1. Record from the Guide
Open the channel list and browse to the future show you want to record. Select the program and go to the “Record” option in the menu bar. A circle with a red color will appear at the right corner of the program if it is set to record.
2. Record While Watching
Switch to the channel that is airing the show you wish to record. On the DIRECTV Stream remote, locate the round DVR button and press it. If the recording has been successfully set, a red circle will appear and disappear shortly.
How to Record a Series?
In addition to individual shows, you can also record entire series to watch episodes seamlessly:
1. Search for the Series
Go to the Show Profiles section and insert the name of the show. It will give you upcoming airings and you’re going to choose it when you wish to do so.
2. Select "Record Series"
Select the option that says “Record Series”. This will schedule recordings for all new episodes that will be aired on any particular station. The shows will be on air, and at the same time, there will be others recorded, ready for the next binge-watching!
Managing Your Recordings

Play Recordings
Click on any recording and press play to begin watching on your TV. It also allows you to restore back or forward similar to a DVR device.
Edit Recording Options
The action menu can be used to choose other options such as the ability to extend the end time in the event of a prolonged program. You can also cancel the recording from here.
Delete Recordings
To delete a recorded program, you need to press down the remote to reveal the action menu and select the option that says “Delete Recording”. This will erase the program from the DVR storage.
