    Program Samsung Soundbar Dish

  • If you are looking to enhance your audio experience while watching TV or movies, incorporating a soundbar into your home theater system can be a good idea. However, the disadvantage of this concept is the irrationality of having to use several remotes at the same time. If you own both a Samsung soundbar and a Dish network for your television service, you can easily manage both devices using your Dish remote. Learning how to program your Dish remote to your Samsung soundbar should not take more than a couple of minutes. Here is a step-by-step guide

    What You Need

    • Samsung soundbar
    • Dish Network: Remote Control
    • TV that is connected to the dish network

Step 1 – Remote control mode on the soundbar

First, you have to activate the remote-control pairing mode of your Samsung soundbar.

    1. Ensure the soundbar is on.
    2. Find out where the touch buttons of your Samsung soundbar are sited. Volume +, Volume –, Power, and Input are the buttons that should be provided on the device.
    3. Connect the Power and Input buttons simultaneously and hold them down for 5 seconds. Your soundbar will beep and the LED indicators will blink which means that the soundbar is now in the remote-control pairing mode.

Step 2 – press any button that will take you to the device codes on the dish remote.

With your soundbar now ready to pair, you need to pull up the programming screen on your Dish Network remote:

    1. Switch on your Television set that is compatible with the Dish receiver.
    2. I hope this helps: On your Dish remote, press and hold the TV Power button until all the device buttons at the top of the dish remote have an orange glow.
    3. Here, using the numeric keys on the Dish remote, you should enter the code number 9965. If the code has been entered correctly, the TV Power button will flash three times.

Step 3 – Program Soundbar Volume Control

Now that you have both devices ready, you need to program the actual volume control functions:

    1. When you are still in program mode on your Dish remote, take your Samsung soundbar remote and hold down the Volume Up button as you aim both remotes at the soundbar.
    2. As the Volume Up button is pressed on the soundbar remote, there will be a shift in the active device button on the Dish remote.
    3. Finally, to lock the volume control mapping to the Dish remote, use the Volume Up button. The active device button will start blinking three times to notify that it has received the command.
    4. Do the same to program the Volume Down and Mute buttons using the Samsung remote as mentioned above. Vary the volume levels on the Dish remote to ensure the volume control has been programmed correctly.

Step 4 is the Power On/Off Function, this would involve calling up the program that controls the power of the system.

Follow the same process to program the power functions:

    1. Grab your Samsung remote and quickly press the Power On/Off button while aiming the device at the soundbar.
    2. If the Dish remote captures the signal, the active device button will change. Press Select to save.
    3. The active button will flash three times when the power function is programmed to the Dish remote.
    4. Testing by switching on and off your soundbar through the Dish remote control.

Step 5 – Exit Programming Mode

When done, power off the television by pressing the TV Power button one more time on your Dish remote. The active device buttons will be turned off.

That's it! You should now be able to use your Dish satellite TV remote to adjust the volume and switch on/off your Samsung soundbar. This is good because you do not have to deal with multiple remotes while watching television and the volume can be adjusted within a short time.

    Additional Tips

    • Ensure you direct the remotes towards the soundbar especially when programming from close range.
    • If programming does not work, then repeat the steps with different code numbers.
    • For other soundbar brands, try to search for remote code numbers online.
    • However, you can reprogram any time, by repeating the steps.

Do not be bothered by different remotes for DVD players, home theater systems, etc while you can have it all in one Home Theater System Remote Control! This makes for a much simpler and indeed more enjoyable experience when programming your devices to work together.
