  • You can view and change all your account and billing information through your online account or an app that Dish Network has. One thing that you can do is add another credit card that will allow you to pay the monthly Dish bill. Here are the directions you should follow to change your payment method from a new credit card in Dish Network:

    Firstly, You Have to Determine Your Account Balance

    Whenever you are making changes to your credit card details, it is advisable to first confirm if your Dish account has any outstanding balance. To check your current dues and your account information you can log into the Dish online account or the Dish mobile application.

    If you have outstanding payments on your Dish account, you will have to settle the amount first before replacing the current card. Dish typically does not permit customers to change the payment method if the customer has unpaid bills. Therefore, it is advisable to pay any outstanding balances using the current card before proceeding with the process.

    Gather New Card Information

    After your Dish account balance has been cleared, collect the information about the new credit/debit card that you wish to use to make the monthly payments. Note down the following information correctly to avoid errors while updating:

    • Card Number
    • Card Expiration Date
    • The three-digit code is located on the back of the card, next to the signature strip.
    • Cardholder Name
    • Billing Address

    Having all the card details on hand will surely help to speed up the process. Place your new card beside you as you input the details on the website/app.

    Log Into Dish Account

    Logging into your Dish account via a computer or the app will allow you to alter the credit card information that is now stored.

    Visit their website to access the Dish login page and input your username and password. Simply click the "Forgot Password" or "Forgotten User ID" option in case you have forgotten the password or the user ID.

    Alternatively, download the Dish Anywhere program on your tablet or phone. Click "Log In" to launch the program and enter your Dish account information. Verifying your account will get you to the account home page.

    Navigate To Payment Settings

    You should find the payment choices of your Dish account after you sign in.

    Click on your profile name from the upper right corner of the page. Go to the "Settings" option—found in the dropdown list—in the resultant bar at the top. Under "Account Settings," or in the left sidebar, proceed to "Payment Settings" on the next page.

    After logging in on the mobile app, go to the homepage and hit the three horizontal line menu icons located in the top left corner. This will open the side drawer; kindly choose "Payments".

    These two choices will direct you to the page displaying and controlling the credit/debit card information applied for billing.

    Remove Existing Card

    Upon arriving at the Payments page, you will be presented with the information about the credit/debit card currently linked to your Dish account. The option labeled “Remove” or “Delete Card” should be located close to the card details; click/tap on it.

    Dish will request confirmation when it wants to remove the existing card. Choose the ‘Yes’ option and in case of any doubt, repeat the process. It will also remove your previous payment option from the account. If you previously had autopay enabled, that will be disabled as well.

    Enter New Card Details

    After removing the old card, you need to enter your new credit/debit card information on the same page:

    • Card No – The 16-digit card number must be entered in the space provided as it appears on the card.
    • Expiration Date – Choose the month and year for your new card.
    • Security Code – Enter the last 3 or 4 numbers usually found on the back of your card.
    • Cardholder Name – Please provide your first and last name in the same manner as on the card.
    • Billing Address – Choose the address associated with your card or input a new one.

    After all the fields are completed with the right card information, click on “Save Card”. Dish will now confirm and authenticate the new card details on your account.

    Enable Autopay (Optional)

    If you had auto-populated for monthly payments active on your old card, it would have been deactivated once you removed that card from your Dish account.

    To avoid having to pay manually without physical contact, autopay can be set on the new card as well. Select the check box that is available beside “Set as default for autopay” when you are on the Add Card flow. This will approve charging your new card by default each month for Dish bills.

    Alternatively, you can enable auto-billing later manually too but for this, you will need to pay once manually. Under ‘Payment Settings’, you need to enable autopay under the credit card which you want to use. Just remember to check your balance before such dates because Dish will charge your card directly.

    That’s it! The new credit/debit card change will come into effect in the next billing period. You will begin to receive monthly Dish statements on the replacement card from now on.

    Customer Service via Change Card

    Other than the online self-service or through the app, customers can also change credit cards for Dish by calling their support team directly.

    To call the Dish Network support service, dial the provided number or use the online chat option. Please fill in the required identification details to access your account. Afterward, ask the agent to issue a new card to replace the current one you are holding. They will lead you on how you can safely input the replacement card details that will be updated by the back-end team.
