Genie Plus is a new paid service at Disney World offered as an upgrade to the previous Fast Pass Plus. Genie Plus is An Individual Add-On
Whereas the previous FastPass+ was a park-wide reservation system for customized ride selections for the whole traveling group, Genie Plus is an individual service. This means that each individual in your group will have to buy Genie Plus if they wish to be able to make attraction selections.
It is important to note that you cannot buy a one-time Genie Plus and then use it to allow entry for a group of people for the whole day. This means that the number of persons who can access Genie Plus at any given time is restricted to persons who have made their payments.
Every Ticket Can Get Genie Plus
As long as one pays the fee, every ticket can buy Genie Plus, regardless if it is an adult park ticket, child park ticket, or any other ticket type. As long as they have a ticket with a paid price, associated with the My Disney Experience app, they can purchase Genie Plus for that ticket.
That means, if you have a group of six members and all six members have a valid park ticket then all the six members can avail of Genie Plus in case they want to. Unlike with the individual tickets, there is no limit to the number of Genie Plus purchases under one group as long as all the individuals have their respective linked park tickets.
Annual Passholders Can Purchase Daily
The access to purchase Genie Plus as per the type of annual pass owned by Walt Disney World Annual Passholders. Here are quick guidelines:
- Incredi-Pass: Included unlimited
- Sorcerer Pass: While costing money can buy and get anything daily
- Pirate Pass: The program can buy daily
- Pixie Dust Pass: Excluded
Thus, for the Passholders willing to use Genie Plus, it would be necessary to buy Genie Plus for the number of days on the trip to visit the parks. It is important to understand that an Annual Pass does not come with Genie Plus as a default setting or a feature that is active from the moment it is purchased.
Reservation Allotments Apply Individually
It means that if you have more people in your group, then more reservation allotments are provided to all the people in the group when using Genie Plus.

- You can make two attraction reservations at a time.
- Available for Next Reservation After This or within 2 hours.
So in a group of 4, that would mean your group would be able to have 8 reservations at the total number of attractions with Genie Plus at any given time. This means that you can make more rides in one go and also less waiting time in case all the reservations get fulfilled.
Sharing Reservations with Your Group
However, any purchase made with Genie Plus is not combined, however, you can share your attraction selection with those in the same group. This way, even if little Susie cannot reach the ride’s requirements to operate the ride herself, Dad can make that reservation using Genie Plus and then list Susie as accompanying him.
With attraction reservations set up this way, it allows for the independence of a person to book attractions but the option of being able to share with the rest of the traveling group. Simply talk to the other people in your group so that you do not have a very hard time in terms of booking.
Genie Plus Can Save Money for Larger Groups
Although Genie Plus can cost more per head than if guests have paid for Lightning Lanes individually for the various attractions, the plans can prove cheaper when attracting a big group. At $15+ per person per day, any additional guests getting on the attraction means that fewer guests are opting for paid à la carte reservations that you may need to purchase.
You have to pay for each person in the group – but it will always be less expensive than buying Individual Lightning Lanes for multiple people if you use the passes for enough attractions in a day. As a result, for large groups who are to take many rides, Genie Plus would be better to opt for than to pay per ride.

Of course, as you can notice, Genie Plus is suitable for any group size as long as each person who is going to use it buys it on his/her own. I also have to mention here that there are no restrictions as to how many entitlements you can have in the Genie Plus group system.
